AmptCoffee started with a simple idea: most coffee advice online is either too technical for a Tuesday morning or too vague to actually help you brew a better cup. We wanted a place that strikes the right balance: practical, tested, and written by people who make coffee in their own kitchens every day.
We cover the full range of home coffee: choosing your first drip machine, descaling routines, brewing methods, bean origins, and the questions people actually search for at 6 a.m. with a half-empty mug in hand. Every guide is built to give you a straight answer first and the reasoning behind it second, no padding, no burying the point ten paragraphs deep.
Our Approach
We’re not a lab, and we don’t run clinical studies. We offer hands-on testing, careful reading of the research that does exist, and a willingness to say a marketing claim doesn’t hold up when it doesn’t. Before anything gets published, we check it against what manufacturers actually document, what’s genuinely established (not just repeated across a dozen other blogs), and whether the advice would work in a normal kitchen with normal equipment, not just a test lab.
If you spot something on the site that’s outdated, unclear, or wrong, we want to know. That’s what keeps the content worth coming back to, and it’s why every guide links back to related pages on the site so you can dig deeper instead of taking any one article’s word for it.
Meet the Team
Maya Torres, Coffee Gear Editor
Maya has been buying, breaking, and replacing home coffee equipment for over a decade, starting with a French press she ruined in her first apartment. She tests coffee makers, grinders, and brewing methods the way most people test recipes, by making a mess in her own kitchen first. She writes the buying guides, equipment reviews, and maintenance how-tos on AmptCoffee, focused on what’s actually worth your money and what isn’t.

Owen Reyes, Coffee Culture Writer
Owen got into coffee writing after spending too many mornings arguing with friends about whether their coffee habits were actually doing anything to them. He digs into the claims around caffeine, decaf, and coffee routines, and writes about the beans, origins, and rituals that make coffee more than just a drink. He covers the health, myth-busting, and lifestyle side of AmptCoffee.
